How you can begin

Visit our pantry and speak with one of our current volunteers to see if it is right for you. We require that individuals be at least 16 years of age and be able to perform at least some of the duties listed above. Our normal hours of operation are listed below, and you can contact us either through an in-person visit, the email wcfoodpantry@gmail.com, or our phone (919) 742-3111.  Our staff will show you around and orient you to how our pantry operates. Next, print and fill out the Volunteer Application (found below) then deliver it to our volunteers. We look forward to hearing from you and finding a way you can serve here!

The West Chatham Food Pantry is operated solely by volunteers. Each day, they ensure the resources we've gathered are appropriately distributed to those in need in our community. Chatham County residents can rely on a kind greeting and committed service from those who give their time to strengthen our efforts. Our high demand and wide reach require several hundred hours of work, and our goal is to add more so there is additional opportunity for people to get what they need. We are always looking for volunteers to help us achieve this goal, and you can help!

The best part is, there's a job for everyone! Our volunteers do several activities including packing food boxes, weighing and shelving food, assisting in food drives, picking up food from collection sites, meeting trucks that are making food deliveries, assisting clients, doing office work, and even translating. No matter your skillset, you can make a difference here and in our greater community.
