How you can begin

We have a minimum age requirement of 16 years old to volunteer here at CORA. We hold volunteer orientation to introduce individuals to our organization and to learn more about specific opportunities. Please contact Jessica at Jessica@corafoodpantry.org to schedule or call 919-542-5020.  At orientation, you will receive a tour of the pantry and learn about the work we do at CORA.  You will also register with Volunteer Hub, our online volunteer scheduling and information system. Following orientation, you will be able to sign up for shifts that fit your schedule.

The West Chatham Food Pantry is operated solely by volunteers. Each day, they ensure the resources we've gathered are appropriately distributed to those in need in our community. Chatham County residents can rely on a kind greeting and committed service from those who give their time to strengthen our efforts. Our high demand and wide reach require several hundred hours of work, and our goal is to add more so there is additional opportunity for people to get what they need. We are always looking for volunteers to help us achieve this goal, and you can help!

The best part is, there's a job for everyone! Our volunteers do several activities including packing food boxes, weighing and shelving food, assisting in food drives, picking up food from collection sites, meeting trucks that are making food deliveries, assisting clients, doing office work, and even translating. No matter your skillset, you can make a difference here and in our greater community.
