About Us

The Western Chatham Food Pantry is a 501(c)3 established in 2007. We are an all volunteer pantry whose sole purpose is to help feed the hungry throughout Chatham County. Since opening our doors, qualifying families have been able to receive food from our facility every 14 days, if needed.  â€‹â€‹For the fiscal year ended June 30, 2024, we provided food for 3,404 family visits to the pantry. 11,678 individuals were provided by these visits. 207 new families were served representing 657 new individuals. The number of individuals served was 23% higher than the prior fiscal year.

West Chatham Food Pantry and CORA (Chatham Outreach Alliance) are pleased to announce their upcoming merger, effective July 1, 2025, marking a significant step forward in expanding access to nutritious food for families and individuals in Chatham County. This strategic merger will unite both organizations’ resources and expertise to better serve the community's growing needs, particularly in Siler City and surrounding areas in western Chatham County.    By merging, CORA and West Chatham Food Pantry will create a stronger, more sustainable foundation for food assistance in Chatham County. CORA will bring additional resources, programs, and expertise to meet residents' urgent and evolving needs, allowing more families to thrive.  This merger is a big step forward in addressing food insecurity across the county and achieving the vision of a community without hunger.  We're grateful for CORA's commitment to building on our legacy and the opportunity to transition alongside its experienced team over the coming months. â€‹Our Siler City pantry has been faithfully supported by area churches, businesses, civic organizations, and individuals. Thanks to their generosity, we are able to provide for the need in our community.
